The garden and the glen
Greenbank Garden provides a designed setting for Greenbank House, a Category A listed building. The garden is known for its daffodil collection, bringing the planted landscape into the story alongside the house. Rouken Glen developed from a private estate into a public park. Its protected geological interest concerns the rocks beneath the landscape, which can be seen in exposed sections of the glen. The park’s estate history and visible geology provide two ways to understand this particular green space.
